Well it’s a commuter car. But if you must take it on a road trip, time your charging when you stop for food, hotels, or drinks.

Or continue to be obtuse.

So you aren’t gonna hold up to YOUR bet?

Nope. I actually think Tesla’s are great and Elon has the Midas touch.

Now, this abortion of a car being talked about in THIS thread is an absolute abortion

But hey, keep moving the goal post. It’s both expected and funny.

Meh. Most people don’t drive far enough where the range would be a problem with the Bolt.

The BMW i3 or Nissan Leaf might be a problem though.

I make way too many long trips. Given the range, it would literally add 40% more time to go anywhere over 300 miles since you can only get 100 miles from a 30-minute rapid charge.

It would be awesome for someone who drives primarily within the initial 250-mile range.

Why would I want to stop and spend money on a hotel when I could simply keep driving and make the trip in one day?

Someone has his identity entirely too tied up with the vehicle he drives.

That it says something about you, your lifestyle, your position in society, etc.

Even cars are political now.

If I'm driving to work I'm going for the lowest cost per mile (ownership/maintenance/fuel) that I can get and still be reasonably comfortable.

That’s the design intent of the car. Commuting and daily use.

Yes. A single task car. I’d rather have a vehicle that I can use for commute, travel, leisure, etc.

I don’t want a one task vehicle. I want a vehicle that can do everything I need it to do.

That's good since you can spend 15 minutes instead of "the night"

So a family with 3 EVs heading from Texas to Florida for their yearly beach trip. Your solution is that they stop every 200 miles and wait for AT A MINIMUM an hour and a half for all three vehicles to charge
You dudes are gonna get real tired of me saying it but in fairness, I get real tired of seeing folks post misinformation.

AGAIN, not an hour and a half...15 minutes.

Most folks have multiple cars.

IMO, the Bolt is the most logical EV for commuters that don’t often take road trips beyond 300-350 miles.

500 miles on a charge is the point it becomes a viable alternative for me. That makes it comparable to an ICE vehicle.

The deal about not being able to charge during a power outage doesn't really matter. If the power is out, the gas pumps don't work either, so it's a wash.

30 min per vehicle at 3 vehicles = 1.5 hours.

We’re talking about the vehicle in this thread. Not your vehicle.

We had people plugging in their Nissan Leafs (Leaves?) into regular outlets found in the parking deck, and the building owner got pissed. I guess they didn't like giving out all that free electricity.

Is that not what this thread is talking about with this vehicle? I’m sorry that you can’t follow along. Tisk tisk tisk tisk

Wait, you're calling me out for not following along while admitting that what this thread is talking about is misinformation?

You said on the same page as this post I quoted that you think it takes upwards of 1.5 hours to charge on a road trip, so my post about you still being stuck in 2012 was 100% spot on.

What? No they don’t. Most FAMILIES have two cars. That doesn’t mean most people have two cars. That is one car per adult.

Having multiple cars for one person is very much a luxury thing

Depends. If it was my only car, I would spend more for a longer range car like the Tesla Model 3 or Y. Maybe the new Hummer thing.

Read the article

It can also use public rapid charging network for a much faster charge (100 miles of charge in 30 minutes).

Rolling blackouts are horrible, this is like saying "Bread lines are a good thing because that means there is food."
This makes no sense.

Yes, they're horrible because it will be 40 degrees inside your house, but that's not what we're talking about.

We're talking about charging your car at home, and dudes are saying you can't do that right now at all, but you obviously can because they are rolling blackouts, so no it couldn't be any less like the comparison you made.
