Again, why can you not have all 3 cars charge at once at different charge pumps? Does everyone at a gas station use the same gas pump?
In this scenario, are 3 electric cars trying to recharge at the same time?
That seems to be pretty rare especially if you are away from the major highways. But even if it happens, why would they all want to use the same charger? Are the others broken?

They could if it were available.
But we what happens if they’re all full? I’d say at least 20% of the time I go to fill up I have to wait behind another car.
And that’s with fill ups taking minutes.

100% of the time if you fill up at Costco.
Not enough EV adoption yet for there to be consistently long lines at charging stations.

I'd have concerns over what Chicago's winters would do to to the Bolt's range. If I have 30 miles of charge left and I park at a Metra station all day in sub zero temperatures, will I get home at night to a car that can actually go the few miles to my house? My colleagues with the Teslas claim that extremely cold weather depletes their charge because the car automatically keeps the batteries warm.
We take an annual ski trip every March, and my car sits at the resort and never moves for 4 days, and I usually lose around 3-4% which is about 8-10 miles over the course of those 4 days.

Also, according the the picture posted by mr too good to donate $20, there are only between 2/300 ev charing stations the nation, meaning that everyone in the area will be using those few chargers if they need them. Only making it more likely that youll end up waiting

From the charging stations I have seen, there is always a few spots open. As time goes on more chargers will be around. I thought this talk was about it being a commuter car. Right now with me working from home and going into the office when I need too, and only going to base once a week or so, it would be perfect for me. But until there are more chargers here in AL, I will not even think about getting an EV.

In fairness to them - does your car refuel in your garage while you sleep
This is a very weak gotcha
I have gas cans. If I wanted to, I could pour a couple gallons in every night, and keep my tank topped off.
I know it's been mentioned, but you do realize they'd be asking you to unplug your car right now, right? Conserve electricity.
Oh yeah- speaking of the cold, regular vehicles have heaters that are basically a byproduct of their engine cooling systems.
How do EV's run heaters? Is it electric? If so, in cold weather, not only might your battery carry less charge, but you'd also be draining it while you drive, to keep from freezing your arse off.

It is, but some posters seem so flustered by electric vehicles that they are pointing out narrower and narrower use cases just to trash them.
It's actually made me more likely to buy a Cybertruck. A "distinctive" looking electric pickup truck like that would trigger so many people. It would fit my needs.

Also, how is that a weak gotcha? It's wayyyyy easier to plug in in your garage compared to going to a gas station to get gas, plus you can start every single day with a "full tank." Explain how that is a weak gotcha, but maybe not using the gas can example as that was a no go.

Dude, he used an idiom, look it up if you don't know what that is. He did not bet $20 for a charity like you're trying to imply.

Quiet Shel311.
The Chevy Bolt/Tesla3/Nissan Leaf can't drive 700 miles while carrying 18 people and tow a 20,000 lb trailer across arctic tundra. Therefore it's junk.
ETA: Now give me $20.

Most families have 2 cars. This one is cheaper than the average car price in the US and can run 250+ miles per charge. It’s an ideal commuter car for people that don’t WFH.
But because EV’s are politicized by the right, a lot of you would rather commute in an F-150, which will break down more often and cost far more to own.
Evs are politicized by the left. Who is out there trying to convince people to be more "green"?
If the technology gets there, I think a lot of folks would be in favor, but it's not there.
You keep saying shite like the average commuter travels less than 60 miles a day and this vehicle would more than meet their needs. That's great, but the average commuter is a broke dick mother fricker, hence they commute for work... and cannot afford a different vehicle for all different occasions they have. Actually it's financially stupid for most to have different vehicles for different occasions. In my case, I don't tow a trailer as often as I used to, but still at least once every 2 months or so. Additionally, I haul stuff in the bed of my truck at least once a month that would not fit in a clown car. I use my truck for my daily commutes as well. The savings in my daily commute will not offset the cost of having an EV in addition to my truck.
Until they make a truck model that can charge in 10 minutes and travel at least 400 miles at normal speeds while running heat/ac, I will never own an EV.

Do you have a Model S or Model Y?
I want a Cybertruck. The styling is a bit much for me, but I kind of like the idea of pissing people off when we move down to Louisiana.

I was thinking about getting a Model Y to hold me over til the Cybertruck came out, but it seems like the Cybertruck may be out later this year/early next year, so it wasn't worth the hassle of switching for just about 1 year for the Y.

The only vehicle I would wait an hour to charge is a Porsche Taycan.
