Also it was hell on tires at times.

My Accord ate through the OEM tires quickly. Turns out the factory alignment was the culprit + very soft tires designed to optimize the ride on those test drives.

What’s the difference between Civic and Accord now? Little to nothing?

We have owned 3 civics through the years and all were great.

It's amazing how they have evolved

Also owned a 2000 Accord V6 coupe that was the best sedan I have ever owned

frick this trend of the center console display looking like a fricking tablet cheaply shoved into the top of the dashboard.

That is all.

I bought a Civic hatchback in 1990. Manual ("standard" back then) transmission. Cassette stereo and A/C were OPTIONS.

Pretty sure the Fit is bigger than that car was, but damn if it didn't have a lot of room in the interior and got great gas mileage (with the A/C off, I would get 50 mpg on the interstate). It also had some giddy-up in that 1.5l 4 banger.

I miss the hell out of that car.

Current civic type R owner - the type R looks are very loud and in your face so not for everyone. The new civic looks great for sure a bit more tame than the R

I drive a 2014 Civic and I must say...this new one looks very little like mine (definitely more like an Accord like others have said). I'd drive this new one for sure though.

The Civic, Sentra and Camry get sleek refreshed interiors and the 4Runner and GX still get cheap, chunky plastic

Sure. Don't see why not. I drive a CR-V, but wouldn't be opposed to driving a Civic.

Welcome to 2021. Where a decent pickup is $45,000.

Sadly, now that the Civic has grown so much, there may not be a business case to continue manufacturing the Honda Accord in such high volumes.

The Accord Sport comes with more safety features than the current Civic offering for the same price. It’s also bigger. You have to jump up in Civic models to get the A.Sports features but then it becomes more expensive than the Accord. Not sure if Honda will continue this with the new Civic model but for the last few years there hasn’t been a whole lot of reasons to buy a Civic unless you wanted the Si.

Much better to get a 3-5 year old used car. For example, a 2016 Hyundai Genesis (50k miles)loaded with all three option packages, panoramic sunroof, looks like brand new, with some warranty left for $21k.
