Thats too long at my age with a wife and kids. If I was 18, I would think about it but right now, there is no price I would take for that.

10 years is a lot of life to give up, but $10M is enough to set your family up and provide a better life.

Like someone said, people in Angola are there for the long haul and most of them have accepted that.

I worked with a guy.. This was 12-15 yrs ago, who was a year or two out of high school. He was a good kid. Kind of quiet, but funny. He was in college. Not lazy at all, but he came into work a few times with bandages on his hands, his head scuffed up, etc. Each time he told us he fell off a dirt bike.

One day, I get to work. I was always the 2nd person at work, I would go BS with the office manager who went in a lot earlier. And he tells me "did you hear about ________?" I didn't so I told him no. He said "he shot and killed ___________ late last night". He would always bullshite around so I didn't really take him serious and he told me "I swear, this is no joke" and went on to give me details.

Evidently there were some people in his neighborhood who had jumped him several times (which is why he would come in scuffed up). That night it happened again. He ran into his house, got his gun, ran back out and dropped one of them in front of everyone out there. Just like that.. He got life. Has been in angola ever since. I talk to the guy's dad every once in awhile and at first he would tell me he wasn't doing good, he was worried about him, etc.. But as time went on, when I talked to him he would say "he is adjusting well. He works in one of the warehouses repairing electronics".

So its not like they stay in a cell all the time and only get 1hr in the yard. So with some type of job that has something semi-meaningful, playing basketball and working out everyday, it might be doable,

Maybe. Could I also be guaranteed to win the rodeo every year?

Isn't that shite this weekend? I am not a big rodeo person, but I know that its more than just a rodeo. Do they have more than one a year? If so, I am sure that keeps the inmates involved, busy.. to some degree I would imagine.

I didn't realize that. I thought the one they have this time of year was the big one, either way, its not something you think about when you think about the "typical"jail.
