Bought loaner (fleet vehicle, ‘in service’ for 5 months and 7k miles) for both last vehicles. Saves $ (was around $2k savings from cheapest new in area), certified pre-owned usually is free maintenance/extended warranty to new also.

They have no idea what they are talking about. A car with less than 30k miles will not just break down unless the former owner took horrible care of it.

Bought a demo Oldsmobile Cutlass once. Loved the car but when you hit the gas there was a couple second hesitation before she'd respond. Dang near got me killed at an intersection in Covington. Chevrolet dealership where I bought the car couldn't remedy the problem. I traded it in on a new Chevy Sedan. Got to have dependable transporation for the wife, especially in a big city. No wiggle room here.
Based on my experience I would NOT buy a demo/loaner car again.
Good Luck!

Being a demo was not the problem.

Bought a low mileage car driven by Ferdinand Pietsche's wife.
Wonderful car, except the piss poor air conditioning performance (BMW still hasn't sussed this out).

My current vehicle was former Ragin Cajun football coach Hudspeth’s wife’s tahoe. I bought it As a demo with 6k miles. Never was titled until I purchased with a big discount, 100k mike bumper to bumper (I know but they threw it in) and 0 percent APR. I traded a Yukon demo that I had purchased in 2009. I drove that Yukon for 9 years and still got 13k for it on trade in. I think we paid about 38 for it. Sadly, the new tahoe was no where near 38.
