I'm leaning towards 510 AD. Since a lot of historians consider 536 AD to be the "worst" year ever(especially in Europe), one would be a prime 26 in 536.

I’m guessing anything between 1900 and 1935 would have been pretty bad for any Jewish person in Europe.

Yeah survive by the Holocaust to be living under Soviet Russia isn’t exactly a reward either.

Mid 1890's Serbia.

A quarter of their entire population was wiped out, most of the young male population in World War I.

Talk about taking some L’s

My grandfather was born in 1895. He and my grandmother were 1st generation Americans whose parents had immigrated from Germany and Austria-Hungary. He served in Word War 1 fighting aganst those 2 countries. Came home to start a family and lived through the depression only to have to register for the draft for WW2 at the age of 45. Fortunately he never went back to Europe. He died of brain and sinus cancer during the Ford administration. Never bitched about any of it.

536 AD?

Sounds like a super volcano erupted somewhere. Fog (ash), little sunlight or moonlight, plunging temps, bad crops. Cold aftermath.

Could probably blame area around Indonesia.
