are you talking about the fencing for the stairwell or the silence room?

That's because it's not in the US. I went to one in Prague and the people are legitimately working it as an actual job. They take it seriously. It's a much more pleasant experience.
That's because they get paid a decent wage

I have a question...If the employees working in fast food places or similar were paid a higher wage, do you think they would work any different than they currently do? IMO, there would be some that would value the job more and give more effort, put a smile on their face, etc., but they would be the minority, and would eventually get worn down by the majority who will not give it any more effort.
While I agree, more money would make a difference, I don't think it's the magic answer. Some people are only going to give 75% of 50%.

No, but if they paid a higher wage, they will attract better workers. Think McDonald's vs Chik Fil A.

I see where you are going with this. But in this case, the higher wage attracts a higher class of worker, thats why you see the difference. However looking at an economy on the whole, your point is valid.

How much does a worker at Chik Fil A make?

If McDonalds paid employees something as paltry as ~$24,000 for full-time, we'd see a much better group of workers on board.
That's what my wife made her first year out of college as an accountant. No, fast food workers shouldn't make what college graduates start out making.

I was thinking that was on the Champs.

Whether the French or the annual hordes of Paris tourists are to blame, the McDonald’s flagship on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées is the fast food company’s most successful location in the world. It reopened in late February after a renovation that included an upscale, industrial-inspired makeover by French designer Patrick Norguet.

I thought the French were foodies. What the hell are they doing eating at McDonald's?
That actually does look like a nice restaurant. They did a great job with the design. Most McDonalds are over lit, plasticy, with a sticky film of dried up soda on everything.

Get over yourself, dude. If an employer is willing to pay it there is nothing we can do about it.

In this case the french government inflates pay and dictates work week

Yeah, the shitty ones still probably wouldn't care, but you would have more "normal" people willing to work there since you could actually make a living working there.
I don't know what's worse.. Having a terrible fast food service experiment or having good service but with people selling themselves short with usage of their skills.

The fast food restaurant with better wages than their competitors can get the better employees.
Raising the minimum wage won't actually change anything.
