I think they did what they needed to and should have done. Aside from the whole situation with Scottie being way bigger than it probably needed to be.
Oh 10000%, its blown out of proportion. The charges are dumb, but the cop may have had a reason to try to stop him which more than likely had nothing to do with him and something to do with the accident that occurred.

Except that didn’t happen here. You are still making sh*t up. Take a breather, sport.
Did I say that happened here? Just an example of why they would stop someone.

They said the cop who arrested him wasn't part of the group working the tournament entrance.
So it was a cop working the pedestrian fatality? That changes everything

Why use an example that didn’t happen.
You are not a serious poster. You are either a troll or ignorant.

They reported that the Mayor has now gotten involved. This cop is fricked and rightfully so.
Of course the PGA may have to disqualify him based on conduct unbecoming. Would be a terrible precedent to ignore their own policy because of who Scheffler is.
Now, the damages paid by the city of a wrongful arrest or such may be huge. But I would imagine this just disappears.

ESPN just showing Scheffler warming up

quote:Why would a cop jump on a car turning into a golf course? Even if this wasn’t someone in a marked courtesy car, jumping on the car in a non emergency situation is just overly dramatic and stupid. Doubling down with an assault charge isn’t going to go over very well. LPD deserves all of the shite coming their way.
this if a cop jumps on my car
A misunderstanding over a simple traffic violation gets elevated by dumb cops into a media nightmare.

Absolutely no fricking way this happens to the best player in the world because of this idiotic incident.

SIAP but Scottie’s attorney says that the cop was not part of the normal event traffic detail. Also says Scottie was not aware of the accident and was trying to follow the normal directions he had been given about entering the course. Confirmed that the 2nd degree assault charge is a felony charge.

Then how is it germane to this post? We aren’t naming all the hypothetical situations for which we could be stopped in traffic.

They are going to be extremely embarrassed when they finally have to release the bodycam footage. Very, very embarrassed.
They'll claim it was deactivated because of rain or something.

Not sure if serious.

My prediction: Charges dropped or he gets it reduced to a misdemeanor and pays some small fine. No one sues the city. The end.

Nope, the cop is fricked. There are witnesses and other footage even beyond his own body cam.

He’s already been released

And you're just ignoring the situation that brought the cops there in the first place.
I guarantee you none of them wanted to go the PGA tour in rain.
