Cool.At one time the North East was heavily populated with the big herd animals of the day.
Buffalo,NY got it's name from the herds of Buffalo. There was a huge salt deposit in that area,

You never studied.
Look up "cloacal kiss." Not all oviparous organisms fertilize externally.

No, mammoths had their shot, and nature selected them for extinction.

By cave men I'm assuming you don't realize that mammoths were still alive at the time the Great Pyramids were being built. The people hunting them, and other large mammals, to extinction were not exactly simple minded cave men.

A zoo or park with a bunch of extinct animals would be legit

Is there any proof that Woolly Mammoths were hunted to extinction? I never heard of them being killed in mass numbers like buffalos were - in fact, I'm pretty sure people weren't "mowing down" mammoths with Rolling Block .45-70's back then.

There are several movies that demonstrate why this would be a bad idea.

You learn smithing new everyday. I never knew humans had a big impact of the mammoths extinction; and I never heard of an asteroid or comet hitting North America 10,000 years ago that led to the extinction of other large mammals...
