Get your Pella quote. Then go to Lowes and get a quote on the exact same door. I've found Lowes to be about 40-45% cheaper for the exact same Pella product.
ETA: I'm replacing two exterior doors with Pella Architect series fiberglass doors. They've been ordered, waiting on delivery in a few weeks. Lowes runs 15% off of Pella every now and again. Then if you use your Lowes card, you save another 5%. Add all of that on top of the huge savings compared to local Pella place, it's a no brainer.

Does NOLA have a surplus builders supply place by chance? In Dallas, we have an outfit called Seconds and Surplus that is awesome. Huge discounts on some seriously high dollar stuff due to overstocks or even customs that did not get installed.

Have wood now, and I would never do it again. Different materials now can be made to look just like wood.

Yea, I have wood too and it just doesn't do well in this humid climate. Even if you keep it from getting wet it swells from the humidity.

Yep. Everything can be customized. You can have Lowe’s measure. But watch them like a hawk and babysit them through every step. Check, double check, triple check everything.

I would shop where contractors shop. May be best to call a reputable builder in your area that has installed a door that you like and ask them where they purchase.

Just say no no no to wood
Fade rot
Go fiberglass ....

You can get a high end fiberglass door that looks just as good as wood for the same or less money and none of the headaches.

A builder I know and trust says fiberglass is the best material available for exterior doors.

When we last built, purchased all of my interior solid wood, paneled doors from Doug Ashy. They were all pre-hung, and all I had to do was stain & seal.

I use Doug Ashy too.
But I'm in Lafayette and have a contractor account.
Last French doors I ordered, used PVC as the jambs. Will not rot with spashed rain. They're a little more expensive though.

The best advise you can get is to go thru a similar or high end newer hood and see what kind of front doors they have.
Fiberglass
And do not do a double, french door. They will warp and never meet up properly in a year or so.
