Mine is an established businesswoman with with a prominent name in her industry. We never even had the conversation it was a given she would keep her name. No worries here .

I had a woman tell me it's better not to because their credit takes a hit due to the name change.

That happens regardless of name change. I worked with a guy who's credit took a nosedive when he married his wife due to her terrible credit

I doubt taking your name will have any bearing on whether or not she cheats on you.

Or you on her

if you're worried about surnames, you deserve to have your spouse cheat on you ...

why are daughters less important than sons? ... do they not deserve the MAYAN's surname? ...

Are you simple? The son is the only one that can carry on the family name by traditional standards. Daughter gets married, takes a new name, their child carries that name.
Son spreads his seed to whores, the family name continues.

Here's my scenario. My grandmother had 2 sons, my uncle and my dad. My dad had 2 kids, my sister and myself. My uncle had 3 kids, all girls. So the family name is 100% on my shoulders. If I don't have a son, my family name dies with me. Fortunately, I did have a son, so now that burden is on him. If he turns gay, I'm going to kick him in the nuts he won't need.

Are pretty much choosing daddy's name instead of hubby's name. Yes. Don't tell them this. It will only make things worse.

It's meaningless, just like marriage. If a woman has a problem changing her last name then she probably shouldn't get married. It would make the world a better place.

I know several female doctors and lawyers who go by their maiden name professionally but use their married name at home and around friends/family

What's the deal with these women who refuse to take on their husbands family name?

They were literally one step from leaving him at the alter. They know it won't last and don't bother to change the last name because they will have to change it back in short order.

It's probably just easier for when they elope with their lesbian lover.

That's not that bad it's when they do the hyphenated shite and try and use both names.
