I still love my ring. And glad we looked together for it. I personally hate solitaire type rings (have always personally found them really ugly all my life). Same thing with certain settings. Because I'm picky...best bet is for me to pick out a setting I love. After all...I'm wearing it everyday the rest of my life.

Thank you

Not much for the whole marriage thing, but always said CZ would be best if anyone wanted to buy me diamonds . I lose jewelry. I wear a very simple ring because I like it, but diamonds have zero appeal to me.

y’all can barely dress yourselves and you’re wanting to pick out a ring?!?

Idk who the frick ‘y’all’ is, because I can dress the frick out of myself.

Furthermore, the ring is more than that, it’s a symbol that a man is willing to cleave to you through thick and thin (although idk if people take that part seriously anymore) yet you’re going to bitch about the way it looks?

I think you misunderstand, you might have to wear the ring everyday, he’s the one that’s got to be married to you everyday.

congrats?

And we not only have to wear the ring everyday but we have to be married to you everyday.

Call it a wash?

OP doesn't even care about the personal preferences of his future wife. Not every woman likes a pear shaped solitaire. I would cry (not happy tears) if I had to wear that everyday

Not a good sign that he can't even understand that women are allowed their own tastes.

Again, if you are going to purchase a ring that she’s has to wear at least let her give some input

Would have made it really easy on me if I had asked her input, but then that would have ruined the surprise.

These days, a lot of women have Pinterest pages you can creep on to see what their taste is. And they’ve probably talked about what they like to their Mother, sisters, cousins, and friends.

It takes some leg work. But to each their own.

Or like someone else posted that it shouldn’t matter, what it looks like yet her next post was saying she wears a certain ring because she likes it

Everyone has different taste, doesn’t make them bad or gold diggers.

No it doesn’t ruin the surprise.

She doesn’t know when you’ll propose and that’s a great idea about Pinterest but that’s still in a way getting her opinion.

I mean cmon...by the time you are buying a ring...yall would have had the marriage talk anyways. So she knows your thoughts on marriage. And knows you want to marry her.

I may have known what the ring in the box already looked like...but I had no idea when/where the proposal would happen. I was still surprised by that and it was still one of the best days of my life that I will always remember.

This is very true. Just pointing out that a couple picking out a ring together isn't such a bad thing.
