What is this like 35 or 40 years old? Seriously, a very similar incident at the lagoon happened about that long ago.

First dead body I saw was out of that lagoon, probably 50+ years ago. A young black male, had been down a while.

The one I found was too short.

"Oh my god, this morning during my workout I had to stop and just remember how crazy this world is you guys. A poor woman was found dead in the lagoon at Audubon park, that could have been me. I'm just so shaken right now, you don't even know guys, I'm going to need a week to get over this while spending my husbands money on stupid expensive security equipment for every nook of our house. Oh and of course, thoughts and prayers for that dead bitch".

Yep and a lot of "likes" were given, I'm sure.

"OMG!!! I'm going right back to my house in my gated exclusive community and having a drink in honor of the life of the dead woman. Anybody have a good espresso martini recipe?"

Don't try too hard. You might pull a muscle with that much of a reach

From the expressions on the girls faces, they may know the victim.
Any updated news on this ?

Is it strange that the victim hasn't been publicly identified? Presumably, someone is missing this person and would have already contacted police, right?

The lack of information is very strange and probably just based on incompetence.

Why can't they state the race, size, approximate age, clothing, hair color and length of the woman? Even if they don't want to specifically identify her (if they know).

Did she have a wallet or watch or phone in a pocket, etc.?

If they don't suspect "foul play", have they determined a cause of death? If not, how can they rule out foul play?

My guess is the family doesn't want her name released just yet.

That could be a good guess, but even that could be reported.
Such as:
"The identity of the woman has been established but authorities have not released her name until her family has been notified. The cause of death has not been determined."

Your expectations are too high. We're talking about NOLA.com and the advocate. Both are trash rags.

Hard for me to argue. They failed to deliver my Advocate today and the Pic (it's in hard copy on Wednesdays) had nothing more than a blurb on page B-2. Something is up.
