I had a vegan lesbian “science” teacher in middle school. Her dog came to school every day too and she made it vegan as well.
As a joke one day, the football team fed the dog some regular dog food with meat in it and he ate it right up.

One interesting thing is if you go back and look at dry dog food labels from 30-40 years ago the average pet dog ate far closer to a plant-based diet than a meat-based diet. That has shifted significantly in the last 10 years or so but the average household dog ate a lot of corn, rice, wheat, and bran back in the day but not a lot of salad. I have a dog that will eat anything from green beans to celery if it is presented as food to him but he won't pass up a ribeye for them. Our other two would spit out a green bean even if it was wrapped in bacon, they would eat the bacon of course.

I’m constantly amazed at my dog’s ability to eat around his flea and tick medicine no matter what it’s wrapped in. He’s become so talented, he leaves the soft pill completely intact.
