No, some of the larger floats were just split up.

Did they have some floats not roll that year?

That was back in 2010 if I remember right. Before pontchartrain float was apart of the krewe

Biggest urban myth out there.

it was on a tv show. ER or one of the "rescue" shows.

Yeah we got this notice this year. Lame.

How are you supposed to snipe the tables of food and drinks all the way in the back of the crowd? Need the nice tight packs to get good distance.

Don’t think Nyx floats 22-the last one are going to ride after another krewe this year. They were ordered to dump all their throws off the floats because they are rentals. Even if they could piggy back on a parade, they got rid of all their throws

Has the city changed ordinances to allow parades to reschedule? At one time if a parade canceled, that was it for the season which is why many of them would parade in monsoons and worse.

Not saying NOPD doesn't have its issues but this seems to be more of a manpower/logistics issue rather than incompetence. Having to staff the UPT route, quarter, rest of the city, and then Endymion isn't exactly a simple thing to do.

I thought rescheduling wasn’t possible for many because other parades use the same floats

Damn! The people at that part of the parade made out well.

The bags are artillery. The individual beads don't have the same impact.

This surprises me, for as big as they are, I assumed they owned their own floats.

That sucks they had to dump stuff. At least they could have taken it home, given away the current year stuff, and save the generic stuff for next year.

That is a logistical issue between krewes and float-builders. But there was a time and it was a long time where you parade at your scheduled time, or you don't parade. Period.

That may have changed, and I am unaware of it.

Jefferson Parish is another deal altogether, and even in the salad days of the late 1970s and 1980s, would let krewes reschedule behind other krewes. They still do, they will also adjust start times up or down to avoid weather as best they can.

Depends of which floats, who uses them, do they own their own floats, etc.

Basically “get all of your stuff off the floats now”

Nyx is buying a few floats per year. But they still rent a lot, and all the rentals are in the second half

I'm not saying you're lying buy you're lying.

I grew up right by a train holding yard and I've heard this tale told at least 1,000 times. The urban legend is actually called "The Last Kiss."

15 years ago isn't that long ago and they're would be stories about it all over the internet. There's nothing so just stop passing this story along to your buddies.

They will allow a reschedule, if the schedule allows for it, including city manpower.

The problem is, the schedule is so tight from Wed on. You also have to have enough riders to make it worthwhile.
