I am trying hard not to call you a jack arse here but you keep pressing the issue. The power to grant bond is a statutory authority that derives from the LA Code of Criminal Procedure CCRP Arts. 314 and 315. The Sheriff is not mentioned or granted that power by law.
What you are likely referring to is they wished to release someone OR and got the duty Magistrate to sign the bond. That isn't setting or granting the bond. That is REQUESTING that the duly authorized person set it.
Why are you getting so pissed dude....relax.
I see...The Sheriff's are requesting them through the court.
Doesn't change the fact that the Sheriff's could have done this and saved the department from the liability.

dumb arse bitch. how bout some personal accountability? she shouldn't have put herself in this position.
Thankfully, most Sheriff's offices don't have your attitude. I know of people arrested for a suspended license which was a state error (not that infrequent) or some flag from years ago that they had no notice of.
The bond amount was ridiculous.
Jail is big business for government, and we place people in jail all the time for issues that should never involve a trip to jail. DUS is one of them.

I rarely support suing the shite out of people, but I hope that's what happens here.
A little decency and common sense can go a long way.

I know, right? It's not like it's the state's job to make sure she's safe.

This is definitely not her first tour of the facilities, how else would anyone know they need to "go to medical"?
Uhhhj.... Seems an intuitive directive when one has a human trying claw their way out of one's nethers.
