Had all 4 of mine out back in Feb on a Thursday morning and by Monday was pretty much back to normal. Only took 800mg of Advil at night just to sleep better and about half that during the day.

The worst part for me was having to sleep sitting up, and for the love of god keep the ice on.

Quoted $1650 for 2 or $2650 for all, they were impacted and knocked me out.

I had all of mine done for like $275. Nurse gave me some shots, and when they started working, the doc came in with a center punch and some fancy needle nose pliers. I was out of there 15 minutes after getting the first shot. I drove home, took some ibuprofen, and only missed that one day of work

I had a simple extraction of one wisdom tooth. Paid out of pocket and it wasn't even $200. Maybe you've got something else going on, like complications? I don't remember this being a big deal at all.

Three of mine are definitely impacted, with one of them coming in completely horizontal/perpendicular to the rest of my teeth. The "easy" tooth extraction is quoted at $294 with the others all above $500. It's around $700 to put me under for the 45 mins.

I think I am going to use the orajel/ibuprofen/salt water/ice pack route in the interim and wait until I get a better idea of what this should cost me and which surgeon is the best. I've made it this far.

Sincerely thanks for the advice in here. I had no idea what I was working with, and online searches give all sorts of vague info.

You should check your medical insurance coverage.

Im not an oral surgeon/dentist, but my experience has been that if they are impacted/not erupted that they usually they can billed under your medical insurance policy as opposed to your dental insurance. So check your coverage on that.

Costs also depend on whether or not if you are just getting local anesthesia/numbing meds -- getting laughing gas -- getting IV sedation -- or going completely under with general in the operating room.

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed, 2 were billed under my medical insurance and 1 under my dental insurance to keep my costs minimal.

Check with your insurance company even if you don't have dental. Some plans cover and some don't PPO v HMO etc. Not sure which one covers and which one does not. My son just had all 4 removed and it was $500 w insurance.

I pull wisdom teeth all day long. If they are sedating you and they are all in fact impacted, then $2500-$3500 is probably reasonable depending on your area. My office isn’t in any insurance networks so we don’t file insurance so I can’t help you there.

Last night I couldn't sleep a lick due to an extreme burning pain on the right side of my jaw due to still having wisdom teeth. I have had on and off issues with them for the last few months (general soreness when chewing mainly, usually goes away after a couple of days), but last night was a whole other animal.

Tough it out Nancy, they'll break through eventually

They only give you a day or two supply

You must've had a shitty doctor. I got mine pulled on two different occasions (no surgery required) and got 20x7.5mg each time.
