You sound pretty defensive.

Late to the thread but wouldn't it be easier to just throw out the "King/Queen" moniker/distinction and just rename the honor?

You concern yourself with the personal choices of others every day. This just happens to be an area you agree with them on.

We won't agree on this, but I'll forever find it interesting that people are deemed to have a psych issue in every instance where they believe they are something else, be it a dog, cat, Jesus, God, satan, etc., except for this one.

To each their own.

As tolerant as I am, I'm not ready to say that in a medical sense. Statistically, they have higher rates of suicide, drug use, depression, etc.

We are still very early in understanding the mind/body connection when it comes to sexual orientation and sexual identity.

As a man who used to be homophobic and transphobic, I can confirm that getting over it is easier than doing any nominal paperwork.

I've made this exact point before. This has been underwhelming.

I doubt it. In fact, my suggestion uses more foresight. We're probably not too far off from someone complaining that King/Queen is offensive because it is a vestige of imperialism, feudalism, slavery, etc.

Yet the OT "doctors" have made a sweeping diagnosis of mental illness.

And you're wrong. If my teenage ditto head arse could do it, anybody can. With ease.

What we're seeing is that it's becoming harder and harder to justify burning the -phobic calories in these anti-LGBT endeavors. As it's becoming clearer and clearer that the safe space from gays isn't worth fighting for, the message board patriots are resorting to picking on kids to make themselves feel better.

Can't disagree here. Wish I could.

It can't be excluded, so his opinion is just as valid as one that makes a sweeping generalization that it's okay, should be accepted as normal, should be encouraged, and so on.

When can I start identifying as another race? I was born Chinese in a white man's body. Who is anyone to say I can't be Chinese

My stance on the whole thing is "Ehhh, I don't know." The relationship between the brain and mind has always been perplexing, and some believe science will probably never give us all the answers.

I'm inclined to just stay out of people's lives so long as they aren't acting in a criminal manner, but I'm not ready to jump on the "It's okay/normal to be trans" train until we better understand why.

At least you learned not to be so quick in calling someone a bigot.

Firstly, I've not called anyone a bigot, and secondly, bigotry isn't inherently bad, and thirdly, nice attempt at a gotcha, and fourthly, there's nothing wrong with calling a person who has an ax to grind with LGBT's a bigot.
