oh yea, and where is the treatment answer? I'm sure if we just put addicts in a rehab facility they'll all be better right?

You are correct. But you're clearly not a true "addict" because you're functioning now, right? I mean, why aren't you homeless on the street? Certainly not because you simply took responsibility for your life, right?

Do you really need me to explain addiction to you? Being an addict has nothing to do with living on the street or being homeless
