Recommendations on wireless music devices please. Bought a pair of beats pro whatever whatever today. They suck arse. Taking them back. Not as good as standard apple ear pods that come with the damn phone. Tried every configuration re ear “bud” size. Shittey. For $250 I wanna damage my hearing.

Use them on mower and tractor so plenty of background noise. Not wed to earbuds.

What says OT.

Favor great soundproofing over music. Your ears will be grateful later.

Bose is probably one of the better pair you can get.

I have Bose sport earbuds and enjoy them. They just rolled out an update with an EQ feature. You can't run your life from them but the sound is good. I just wear muffs when I'm on the mower. Nothing is going to sound great when your ears are 2 feet from an open engine.

In my woodworking shop and mowing etc I use ISOtunes. They are OSHA approved and have an NRR rating of 27dB. They aren't cheap but not on the high end either. I have been very happy with them.

ETA mine are the ones with the wire between the buds, they have new ones that are just ear buds but only have a 22 dB NRR.

It’s just for your earpieces, anything JBL or Bose will make you more than happy.

Shure and Sennheiser are super legit but are $$$$

Sounds like they need to be noise canceling. The Sony XM4s are probably the best all around.

I prefer the sound quality on the Master Dynamic earbuds but the noise canceling is just so so.

TBH I have tons of headphones and earbuds and lately I use airpod pros about 90% of the time. They're not the best but they're easy.

I’m currently in the final stage of narrowing down my fairly exhaustive wireless anc headphone search, but I haven’t messed with any earbuds, so I’m not sure if this will be of any use to you.

I’m finding that I must have fairly large ears (long), because damn near every one I’ve tried the bottom of the cup clamps on the bottom ear lobe. I’m also realizing that my head is really sensitive to headband pressure, which is kind of strange. I haven’t quite found the perfect set yet, it seems every pair has +/-.

The Sennheiser Momentum 3’s are my leaders so far in that they grade pretty wel across the board for me. I think they sound great, only bested by the Shure Aonic 50 in terms of sound quality (it’s close though). But the shure’s anc is pretty poor, and the earcups aren’t as comfortable as the Sennheiser’s, however the headband on the shure is more to my liking.

The final pair I’m going to try are the Bowers & Wilkins px7’s I think. Supposedly their ear cups are a bit more spacious than the sennheiser momentum 3s. Some will note that there are two glaring brand omissions here, Bose & Sony, which are pretty much the class leaders when it comes to wireless anc headphones. I’m just not a huge fan of the more colored sound historically from these brands, but most love them.

Models I’ve tried (more or less in order of preference)
Sennheiser Momentum 3’s - $267
Shure Aonic 50 - $300
Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC - $208
Sennheiser pxc 550 ii - $169
Cleer Audio Enduro ANC - $150
Sennheiser hd450 bt - $124 (these earcups are so small they’re essentially on ear headphones)

All of the above have sounded decent to really solid, with good anc except for the shure’s and no major latency issues for tv/movies. I initially didn’t really want to spend more than $200, because I won’t use them that much. , and if the fit on any of the above <$200 models were more comfortable I could’ve easily settled with any of them.

The Sony XM3s & XM4s are routinely awarded “best of” by a lot of reviewers/sites, but I haven’t listened to either.

that was the other pair I was thinking about trying. Those or the HX. They are hands down my favorite based purely on aesthetics, but I think I read somewhere in one of the many reviews that the earcups were fairly small?

They're small and the clamping can be a problem for some. I have a big head but can comfortably wear them for a couple of hours no problem. If I was going to wear them for hours a day it might be an issue.

SQ is Great, ANC only decent. AirPod max prices are plummeting if you're so inclined. They're very good phones and great all a rounders if you can get them at a lower price point.

All music is wireless.

But if you’re talking about wireless listening devices, I’d recommend ray con.

I had a pair of momentums and they were fantastic; for a year, then they crapped out on me. Seems like none are really built to last.

Damn, yeah that’s a bummer, and good info to know if I’m having a hard time deciding between them and the px7’s.
