They are going to start naming sunny days next

That would be a great place to use overused white peopl names of the past few decades

sunny day Ashley, Tyler, Taylor (could be either of the alternating M/F), all the -dens, etc.

Kind of like how it's your fault for living in a hurricane-prone area?

My first trip to New York City, it snowed over two feet. I was amazed.

The streets got buried, and traffic was nonexistent. Even the skating rink at Rockefeller Center shut down because the zamboni couldn't keep up. My brother and I walked out into an empty Times Square and yelled, "Where is everyone!?!"

But, every storefront shoveled and salted the sidewalks non-stop. It was a feat of humanity like I've never seen. Our plane left LaGuardia on time the next day.

New York doesn't function on streets. It functions on sidewalks, subways and runways. Great city!

We had a few storms like that when I lived in the DC area. It was like I was the only person that cared that it was snowing. I would go out for walks during the storms and not see a single person. During one storm, walked about 2 miles right down the middle of Duke St. in Alexandria, VA and didn't see a car.

This was our view during one of the big storms

Are winter storm names a creation of the Weather Channel? Seems stupid to me...

Yes.

It's to drive ratings like they get with the hurricane season.

The forecast here is down to 6-10" total. It's going to be blowing like crazy and cold so I'll just clean the driveway tomorrow when it ends and spend the day working from home.
