You should be fine they are expecting the sleet to pick up around 9 am

Why do I feel like naming a southern winter storm Leon is slightly racist?

cause it's a free country, and interpreting models doesn't take a degree in meteorology, thats probably the most simple part of it all aside from sticking your head out the window.

Go troll somewhere else or go make a thread stating my apple iphone knows the weather better than everyone else. I'm sure you will get a lot of bites.

It doesn't take a genius to read a chart

Should I put a lot of stock into that model? The models I've been studying differ vastly.
The models today have really been struggling with this setup. The piece of energy over Baja, Mexico (southern stream) has been driving them crazy and the the energy diving down out of Canada through Montana (northern stream) is stronger than has been modeled. Also, some random energy sprung up across Arizona that has gotten absorbed into the northern stream.
The models kept holding back the southern stream energy too much which kept reducing the forcing mechanism for precipitation over Louisiana. This resulted in decreasing precipitation over Louisiana from 6z to 12z to 18z and put Baton Rouge within 50 miles of being almost dry.
It looks like the models, esp. the high-resolution short range, are starting to pickup on the fact the the southern stream energy is moving east a bit faster and kicking off some energy. The 00z NAM looks to be picking up on this and came in a good bit wetter.
