Windshield replacement with Safelite or dealership?

I cracked my windshield today. Crack is fairly large and grew over the day so it likely needs to be replaced. The windshield has technology in it such as heads up display, rain sensor, and adaptive cruise control sensor. I’d prefer to have the windshield replaced at the dealership because of all the technology. Dealership says the windshield itself costs $1300 not including labor. I have SafeCo insurance with windshield replacement for $100 deductible. Safeco refers me to Safelite who claims they will use OEM (as opposed to OEE) glass. Is this good enough or should I stand firm with wanting it replaced at the dealership? Any OTers have experience with Safelite?

I’ve used Safelite and they will use factory windshield if you just pay the difference

I've had a few windshields replaced by Safelite and they did a good job. None of mine had all of that stuff though. Pretty much just glass and a rear view mirror

Seems like if you can afford a 2017 Lexus, then you can and should have it done at the dealership so it looks like a brand new car again. Also, since you're rich, just trade in the car and get a new one, intact.

What's a rain sensor? Tells you if it's raining?

The dealer will just farm it out to a glass shop. I've used safelite with no issues on some higher end cars. Just bring it to the shop.

Even though it's probably plug n play, with the technology imbedded in it, I would take it to the dealer. They have the diagnostic equipment to check or correct if necessary any problems that may occur during replacement.

I've used Safelite 3 or 4 times over the years and they are great. They will use an OEM windshield if you request it. They will come to your office or home and make it happen. I highly recommend Safelite.

turns the headlights and wipers on for you automatically when you are driving and the windshield gets wet

Here's the secret...the dealership will probably have safelite or another glass shop do the work.
I installed glass all thru college and we had accounts with multiple dealerships. They don't typically have people who install class there. Even a body shop will usually call a glass installer.
