I have a spare unit that I use during hurricanes that works pretty well...6500 btu that I got from the wal marks. I saw a stack of them there the other day for about $200 ea, complete with remote control...

is this a spare or is it the main ac for your house?

If you do not have central ac Don't bother with box store units-- Buy a Fredricks and be done - they have always been the best in window units-

Should not have purchased that smart phone, computer, or whatever it is you're posting from. Unless you went to the library to post this.

we've all done that kind of thing at one point or another in life...just keep your head up and make good decisions and eventually you will find yourself in a better position...
