Check out these guys. They have window A/C with heat. You indicate the temp you want and the unit chooses whether to use A/C or heat. I live in an older home and decided to go with these. Just keep them set on 72' year round and they do beautifully. Not bad at all on the electric bill either. If using more than one (which I do due to the size of my house) one goes down, you still have the rest of the house up. You can get by until you either get it repaired or just order another one.
