I choose to believe heaven exists, and my wife and I live in the moment and take things one day at a time so that we may one day see our daughter again...

I don't lose sleep over things I have no control over.
Had one idiot ask me in a pizza hut 48 years back where I would go if I died that night. I replied "the hospital and then the funeral home."
Years later I was asked if I would go to heaven or hell. Told the guy that I would take hell since that is where all the naughty horn girls would be. You want to spend eternity with a bunch of frigid birches who will never put out. or chasing women and fricking each other's brains out?? Besides if you have lived in LA, the temperature will only be a couple of degrees warmer.
Always loved the tune Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.
Seriously, none of us have any control over the so called hereafter. We do have control over the present. The present is what we need to focus on.
As to the issue of suicude, I wouldn't make any moral judgment as we have no idea what got that person to that extreme.

What’s everyone’s opinion on this debate. If you commit suicide, do you go to Heaven, or hell for eternity?
For a believer, the one unpardonable sin is denying Christ's ransom sacrifice and Lordship in the first place, the call of the Holy Spirit so to say. If one truly accepts Christ, they are a new creature, blood bought and saved...now folks can backslide, even to the point of suicide. I for one would not want to have to give account for this action but to lock one out of Heaven for that...no, not what I believe. Now as for a sin unto death? Yep, that qualifies obviously.
I would ask for those saying suicide sends one to Hell, even as a believer...were those who jumped from the WTC on 9/11, technically committing suicide, doomed to Hell for jumping? I would say of course not, it would be ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Well if they weren't bound for Hell over that, God will not cast eternal punishment on other believers who take their lives either. The same goes for believers who have mental illness, etc...some folks get too worried about others' decisions and need to look at their own heart.

I believe that man doesn’t know how God will judge someone that dies in a sinful act without the opportunity to repent.
But man sins constantly and continuously, to say that God would not give someone the committed suicide the opportunity to repent that sin before passing judgment would also mean that you would have to say that anyone that dies unexpectedly without being able to repent their most recent sinful thoughts or action is also lost forever as well. I am extremely skeptical that that would be the case. God has his law and he passes judgment, but he is also the God of grace, mercy and love.

Don’t do the suicide, figure out another solution.
As far as an afterlife, we shall see.
If there is one, I’ll deal with it.
Hopefully it’s not like India or Arkansas.

If Gods mercy is infinite compared to your finite, and you can find it in your heart to have mercy on someone that does this, then certainly God can.

This isn’t how it works. The Bible teaches excepting Christ sacrifice covers our sins past, present, and future. It’s not a license to sin because true repentance and receiving the Holy Spirit would change our desires.

I am not a believer but hope that I am wrong. I also think that if God is real then he understands why I don’t believe and would not hold that against me. ??????? Otherwise it sounds to me like the only reason we are here is to worship him. Why? That’s our purpose here? Couldn’t we do the same thing in heaven?
