Once this price war kicks in. How low will it go?

What will it bottom out at?

I have no clue about refinery costs or what ever. What does it cost to refine a gallon of gas? Surely some of refinery guys can elaborate.

I don’t, I don’t think anyone really knows. I just can’t see gas going that low again, especially under $1.00

I don't think anyone saw the Saudis crashing the price of crude.

Because the last time gas was $1 was 2005. 15 years of inflation at 3% means that $1.55 or so is the equivalent today.

ETA: The last time I remember buying gas that cheap, that is. I was still stuckinMS back then.

I haven’t seen 99 cent gas since the 90s. Not a chance in hell it drops that much.

Not sure of this site's accuracy.

Ballpark Estimate: $0.30 to $0.60 a gallon.

Gas prices got way below $2.00 in Louisiana in 2015 but didn’t get close to $1.00. 2015 is the lowest it’s been since it crashed after 2008. Interested to see how low we get this time.

I remember that. We had seen spikes after 9/11 and it hovered around $2 a gallon where I lived for several years after that. I graduated from grad school in 2004 and sometime the next year we were back home for a quick weekend. Someone in the family had a birthday or something. I remember hitting the highway near my hometown and a shell station had it for 99 cents. Never thought I’d see that again. And I don’t think we’ll get below $1.50 again in my lifetime.

Yeah it got super low. Crude dropped hard in late 2014/early 2015.

I sure hope not. Already far too easy for knuckleheads to drive around all day as things stand.

In some States the Fed and State taxes are .50-60 cents a gallon.

MS, LA, AL, TX is down in the .20 cents a gallon range.
