The majority of those dying (aside from the elderly) have pre-existing conditions and obesity leads to most of those conditions.

eating is fun. obesity won't end until eating is a lot less fun.

“Pulmonary conditions and the immuno-compromised are not the leading underlying health conditions based on percentages in Louisiana. Instead, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, obesity and cardiac problems are the most commonly repeated pre-existing conditions.”
“Forty-one percent of the first 83 COVID-19 deaths in the state were patients with diabetes while 31% had chronic kidney disease. Twenty-eight percent had obesity as an underlying health condition while 23% had cardiac issues.”

Do you have data to back that up?
Louisiana is the fattest state out there and their statistics dont support this.

Geez, I like to drink but “Arthur” shows us you can’t stay drunk morning, noon, and night every goddam day.
ETA: Many are physically lazy on the back end too.

If this thing drags on another month, most people will be obese.

I don't know. People seem to be a lot more active right now.
Me and my oldest just went on a bike ride and the bike path was so busy it was hard to actually ride.

Doesn’t work because:
1. Food companies spends billions to make good addictive. They know how food triggers the human brain through manipulation of appearance, taste, sound, mouthfeel, marketing.
2. We are a pleasure(food, sex, alcohol, winning in sports)driven culture where we want to satisfy our cravings immediately. And we want it now now now! Everyone knows that eating fruits and vegetables is healthy. But if an obesity person wants to change their lifestyle by eating lettuce and kale, they will likely fail because it takes months to see immediate impact of the change. Let’s be honest, Americans will likely not sacrifice short term pleasure for long term benefits.

Sidewalks are busy with runners, but the gyms are empty.
It's not the excercise, necessarily, it's the junk people will feed themselves for a month.

Nope. They will somehow turn it into "viruses are fat phobic" and blame white men

The sidewalks are busy with everyone. A lot of these people have never stepped foot in a gym, but with the kids home, they feel the need to get out of the house.
Me and my daughter ride this bike path all the time. I have never seen it as busy as it was this morning.

I'm not sure why people that ate healthy before this, would all of a sudden start eating junk food
Our diet hasn't changed any

Sheer boredom. No sports, no socializing, people will start resorting to convenience foods.

Lizzo is healthier and in better shape than half the OT. Fact. Where are her corona complications?
Lizzo is fine.

except sports and socializing is probably what causes a lot of people, especially people that generally eat healthy, to not eat healthy
