Will Covid-19 finally change the work from home paradigm?

It seems that lots of people still latch into the antiquated notion that working from home is less efficient. Many studies show that this isn't true and in some cases increases efficiency.

The question though is will this create a long term shift in this thinking?

A shite ton of industries could save so much money by having their employees work from home nowadays. I don't know why working from home isn't the norm in half of the workforce yet.

Working from home isn't all it's cracked up to be. I do it 1-2 days per week and I get cabin fever being in my house for work, sleep, etc. I would not want to work full-time from home.

For this event? The question is will your employer finally accept that working from home still achieves the same work product?

Would love to put this theory to the test

Yes because I'm high-risk because of a lung condition. I'm hoping it does. They could even save a lot of money once they realize the savings in insurance from letting me work from home. I'd love it.

Truly depends on the job and the individual.

This is like saying certain study habits or diets work better for everyone. You can't make sweeping statements like that.

I could not do my job as well from home. Requires too much person to person interaction. It would also stunt a lot of careers as "face time" is how you develop your network in the office.

I'm sure it has its own set of issues like cabin fever. It becomes hard to separate work/personal since you don't physically disconnect.

I have worked from home for 4 years now. I do like it. I miss some of the interactions, but not that much.

This too.

Occasionally I'll do it if I've got repairmen coming to the house or something like that and by mid-afternoon I am restless with cabin fever.

I'm an ADHD extrovert though.
