Not sure the full reason for the lawsuit, but the hotel security was bribed and ‘lost’ the security footage. What we see is a phone video recording of the original security video before it was ‘lost.
The person Didd originally tried to bribe refused the offer and recorded the original footage with his cell phone. Sure enough, the original was subsequently lost in the next 24 hours.

Seems like the Biden trial. Hunter was guilty of crimes 1000 times bigger that what he was tried for. Slap on the wrist for minor stull and totally not tried on the real crimes. Is this the Hunter trial part II. Watch the shiny penny!
