Wtf, you agreed she'd be a stay at home mom BEFORE marriage? Damn. Does she have any expectation of going back to work? Or do you have any expectation of her going back to work?

Just tell her that it wouldn't be fair to your next wife if you aren't fully functional.

When people believe it's safer for me than her absolutely.

Also, for the people talking about not doing it before I'm sure. I am sure. She just wants options if she ever changes her mind. She can't take birth control. She has her reasons.

Also, it's awesome so many of yall have got it done. I had no idea how common it was. Not talked about much I guess.

Probably been said. But what if you catch this broad fricking t-boo from down the road. You divorce her. Meet some new young wild pussy and decide you want kids with her. Your coming out of pocket ten grand because you couldn't pull out of your previous wife?

Sorry about your wife, but you should really read the literature about IUDs rather than relying on anecdotal evidence. IUDs are highly effective and safe.

While I've had one and it worked fine for me in between kids, I know a girl who had two and got pregnant on each of them. One pregnancy ended with a full term miscarriage. another girl had one, it moved into her uterus and had to have emergency surgery to have it removed.

I got one in 1970 after two children - no problems and never regretted it. My brother, also with two children, also got one about the same time. Ended up divorcing his first wife and later got married again. Second wife wanted children - he went through the costly procedure to have it reversed.

We should really start giving all teenage boys vasectomies before they become sexually active.
This would cute A LOT of the world's problems.

She went in to get her tubes tied. She didn't come out. She wasn't pregnant.

My cousin had a snip job after he and wife #1 had 2 kids because three was enough (Wife #1 had a son from previous marriage who my cousin adopted.)

Cousin and wife #1 later divorced.

Wife #2 had never had children so he had snip job reversed.

They didn't know the snip reversal really worked until #2 got pregnant.

Then wife #1 remarries and has child #4 with husband #3.

I guess the moral of this story is to keep your options open. You never know what life down the road will hand you.
