Watching the trailer, it looks like the typically overdone Hollywood hype. By the time the water got to Baptist, it was not a rush of water, it gradually came up.

All I know is watching that series
That goodbye scene between the LifeCare lady and Emmett Everett when he figures out that he isn't going to be evacuated was tough to watch.

how accurate is the show?

How you moving the morbidly obese patients, patients on manual vents, etc without elevators?
We carried them up the stairs, bagging them,,,,,now, the really really large ones could have been taken by boat, but I didn’t participate in that

Why did you not get all of them then if it was so simple?
Also, how would you get the really large ones to the boat? Just let gravity do its thing?

Because it wasn't easy to move those people even though this guy is claiming it was

He lost the argument in that police pulling the gun on the pregnant lady thread

Odd take, but whatever.

I'm just picking
I know I really didn't defend that cop though.
Back to this topic, I have some insider info in this case that I'm not divulging the source on. But to imply that some of these patients that ultimately died at Memorial could have been easily evacuated is simply not the truth.

He simply said it wasn’t “guaranteed death” for them.

He wasn't there for all of it, so how would he know?

quote:I will say this, everyone I observed acted valiantly. You have to know that the employees in this hospital had been there since Sat/Sun, and the hard decisions started on Tuesday, falling into Wed/Thurs,,,, I can recall being in the ER Tues night around 11pm, pitch black, hot as hades, and more patients than anyone can handle,,,and this went on for several more days, without much food or drinkable water,,,,they were also operating in an information vacuum, in what became a 3rd world hospital, and using the things they had on hand, and the info they had, they did what they thought was the right things to do, whatever they did. I’d never want to be in that situation again.
Yeah I’d probably understand if the employees took something to take the edge off in all that mess! All I know is watching that series, had I been in that position working and responsible for those lives without help coming in immediately, I might have given myself morphine.

I agree with box on this one. It would take some really big guys to move a 40p pounder. There was no room for that. Getting in a crane was impossible.
I care for my grandfather close to the end. Picking up and moving a 160 pound man is hard.
Plus these Healthcare people were in actual hell.
It wasn't the doctors fault the hospital administration didn't have a solid evacuation order in place.

This was my only point in asking the questions to you, because it didn't seem like you understood this based on your first few posts. I'm glad you do, and definitely hope you never have to experience it again.

Thanks for spoiling the show a-hole. Maybe change your title.
