Why the O-T hate over tattoos?

It may appear I'm the new guy, but I've lurked on here for years. Seems like any thread comes up and its a tattoo, its frowned upon. It applies more toward the ladies most of the time. Both me and wife has quite a few, not trashy or anything disrespectful. She actually has a sleeve that's got lots of hours in it. No neck, face, nothing like that. I do have some on my hands. Both of us have good careers and never had any of our bosses frown at us or ask us about it.
Just curious I guess why the hate?

They’re trashy because they are trendy. And the trend will pass and you’ll be left with this giant evidence of how trashy you are.
Your grammar and syntax reveals your trashiness as well.

The trend passed me about 15 years ago then. Trash I will be in the eyes of the OT. Still not embarrassed or regret them.

Getting a tattoo or face piercing is something a teenager does.

Trendy you say? Well this is a trend that has been going on since almost 3400BC
Since you seem so enlightened, what makes you think that its going to end in the near future?

No face piercings, but most of mine are from that time frame. Like I mentioned, 15-20 years ago. But they aren't cheap, jail house style or anything. Never stopped me from getting a good job and pursuing the career I'm in. I guess it'd be more understandable if I was a dead beat dad, dope head, crack head. Just seems some people on here get plain upset over a tattoo...

Sorry I don't live up to your standards. Its the trashiness of my tattoos causing me to act that way...

Tattooing of the flesh has long been regarded as something “out of the norm” until recently (probably the last 20 years). Usually reserved for MEN in gangs or prisoners or in the military. Men on the fringes of society. Rebels, if you will.
FEMALES tattooing themselves is a very recent phenomenon (if you were born in the 70s or the 80s- do you think your grandmother has tattoos?) and it’s an outward sign of mental/emotional instability. Females tend to do something to their appearance after experiencing trauma. Ever seen a chick lop all of her hair off Or dye it a different color after a breakup? It’s the same thing with tattoos. Typically, emotionally/mentally healthy women choose NOT to mar their bodies permanently with ink or piercings. I’m sure there are exceptions to the rule, but ALL of the women that I’ve encountered over my 47 plus years in life that had tattoos/piercings were very emotionally/mentally unstable (which is probably the same experience for the other men of the OT here).
It’s like a primal instinct in the wild when an animal sees another animal that has certain types of markings, it serves as a warning to others and they know to avoid it.
Same thing with humans. Typically, The more tatted up she is, the crazier she is.
Yeah that’s good in the sack but no one wants to marry a woman like that or bring her around his employer at the company Christmas party.
Tattoos now have become so prevalent that even the geek in accounting has a tat.
Hence, NOT having tattoos in 2024 makes you a rare person in Western society.

I try to never talk to anyone with a tattoo. I have no interest in associating with those people.

That sleeve on your wife is going to look terrible years later.
It’s just a personal preference to see a woman’s skin and not cartoons or skulls or poems tattooed across it.

TireGuy69, that's the kinda answer I was looking for. Not any trauma or a bad childhood. Actually had a good one. Now my wife did have a rough one, but she isn't crazy or seeking attention. We're both more keep to our self, but don't mind being in a crowd neither. We don't party, bar hop, ect. We're just simple people, don't blow money on stupid stuff, drive older reliable vehicles, even though we can afford a new one. Both of us have good jobs.
Now I do get the attention seeker behavoir when it comes to dying hair purple, pink, ect. And I do frown on face and neck tats, but it isn't gonna keep me from hire someone.
Some of the nicest, hard working people I know have tattoos. And some of the worst go to church on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Love em on women. Shows lack of good judgment. Easy targets.

Because they make people look worse. The more tattoos someone has, the worse they look vs before they had tattoos.

If you enjoy your ink, then enjoy it. I've got ink that I had done for very personal reasons. The OT is full of judgmental try-hards. Just live your life & be happy.

No. A parent who brags about how brave her 2 kids are for being trans is trendy. Tattoos have had more skin in the game for much longer. It’s not frowned upon by anyone under age 40 anymore. It’s well past the trend stage.

Oh it doesn't hurt my feelings or anything lol. Just seems every time a thread involves a woman that has tattoos, some of these people wanna set her on fire. Like she personally offended them.
