They all have 100K warranties and I know 3 people with one and all love them. I drive a Tundra but if I were in the market today I would seriously consider the Titan. They have 5.6 liter engines but get over 20 mpg. My Tundra has a 5.7 and gets 17.

I would love to have a titan but I’m driving 1,500+ a week for work. The gas mileage would eat me alive.

I am a Nissan fanboy. I believe I am driving my 5th Altima. All high mileage and all reliable. Also had Maxima and a Pathfinder.

With that said,I do not like the looks of the Titan. Some angles it looks ok and some it is ugly.

Other than that, most truck owners are fanboys of Ram, Chevy or Ford and of course their trucks are the best and all others suck. Titan is the new kid in a very loyal truck owner field.

Being 52, I have heard complaints about every brand on the road.

Titans are like Wranglers.

They do not look good until you add aftermarket assessories

My buddy rolls in a black XD with bodyguard, liftkit and AT's. Looks great. Yes, he uses it offroad

Car and Driver said the new Titan was one of the worst long-term test vehicles that they've had this century. Their article made the Titan sound like an absolutely atrocious vehicle.

From their article

The not-quite-heavy-duty Titan XD is a ‘tweener tow rig that fills a niche in the cutthroat pickup-truck class. It has the trappings of a heavy-duty pickup: a bulky body, a beefy frame, and a torquey diesel-engine option. But its middling capability and performance are barely better than those of light-duty trucks. It handles like a heavy-duty pickup, though, with lazy, uncommunicative steering and vague responses to your directional commands; its compliant ride is the sole dynamic bright spot.

Are they saying the steering wheel doesn’t work?

I have no idea what this could even mean.

I read that article and they compared it to 3/4 ton competitors and drove the diesel.

I got to say I don't understand the diesel---it is not as big as the diesels their competitors put in their 3/4 tons and it not small enough to give you a lot of good mileage.

I would stay with the gas. Frankly I would stay with gas in any truck. The diesel advantages are not that great anymore. Fuel is higher, service is more costly and service life just isn't an issue anymore.

i am with your brother, put 250,000 0n this '04 and beat the crap out of it and still got some fool to give $1000's for it...only problem i ever had was the rotors back in '04 or '05. The new ones look okay but feels like less room in the back seat. New ones drive like a truck and after only 15000 still smells like new...In late 2017 they dropped the price a lot on the '17s so i feel they gave the truck to me.

Its a truck so I don't care about looks.

If it’s only for purely utility why get anything but a long bed? I don’t really get the quad cab short bed trucks.

Well, I can show you a 1 1/2 mile long factory that builds them 24/7...so someone somewhere likes them pretty well.
