If they're drop shipping to store the next day, just work it out to drop ship direct to the field address. It can all be worked out if you ask.

I need 30 gallons of paint to paint lines on a ballfield.

if you're not using it for profit, and maybe have a 501c(?), get oops paint from Home Depot, it's free

We normally buy 120 gallons at a time (we use 30 gallons every two weeks) Since this first time using this store and their paint, just bought enough for one job to see how it works.

Tell them that exact idea. I bet they will figure out a way to deliver it.

60 gallons of paint is a hell of a reoccurring order for a local hardware store to have in their back pocket.

Many a hardware stores, lumber yards, etc were put out of business by HD and Lowes. It had nothing to do with their hours. Similar can be said for other businesses and drug stores, restaurants, clothing stores, etc, etc....

We don’t own our own real estate anymore. That is owned by out of state corporations. We made that so over the years. As you drive around during the day try and count the pieces of real estate that locals own compared to that which is owned by out of state corporations, and the picture is clear. We are those who are owned.

Understandable. A 30-35 minute commute in Houston can easily be stretched into a 45 minute or 1 hour commute.

Hmmm.

We are a 501c3

We use it to paint fields for soccer, flag football, and football.

I'm not 100 percent sure of the exact paint we use (it's ordered and the fields are painted by our volunteers who know all about that kind of stuff) but I feel like it's basically a white exterior paint.

a type of spray paint is typically used for these applications - it's called field paint or striping paint i believe

Maybe the hardware man needs to get out and do some shopping before other businesses close. Have you thought that you may be being selfish here?

Shopping local is often a bigger and more expensive pain in the arse than going to a chain. I stick with convenience, and 98% of the time the local guy sucks.

I know that's a joke but Walmarks are probably the primary reason for the demise of locally owned vendors across the country, and now they're all over the world

We paint the fields every two weeks because we cut the grass every week, and after the second cut, you really can't see the lines anymore.

We use 5 gallon buckets of regular paint, cut 1:1 with water, we have this big gas powered machine that then sprays the paint onto the field. The machine has a 6 gallon resovior for the paint.

Try to work out something with the Ace just this once. Call and request the drop be done at the field address. Hopefully it will all work out and you'll feel better for it, as will they. Maybe down the road when you're looking for ad revenue or sponsorships they will return the favor to you guys. Partnership formed.
