As opposed to the world where they literally sent those same kids to die in the jungle for nothing, or a world where some were second class citizens from birth

I don't believe these two are mutually exclusive. Are you saying that you have to have one or the other, or that one deserves what is happening because of past wrongs they had nothing to do with?

Pretty shitty way to think if either of those are the case.

Well its on me, 100%. In my case, it never got to be a financial problem and I cant tell you if the online thing would've made it one, but the ability to finance gambling is an entirely different animal.

I don't know have the answers other than an outright ban, but I can tell you, it is going to be an epidemic for young men if it isn't already.

Firstly I’m black and we had parlays at barbershops shops

My friends used to play craps at the back of class

Also if you didn’t pay or give a chance to let someone else to win their money back you’ll get your arse kicked

Secondly it’s different than a celebrity who extremely popular with 14 year olds promoting gambling

Losing fifty or a hundred bucks in college shooting pool or playing bourre is one thing. No billboards or TV ad blitzes were promoting that.

There's a reason cigarette advertising was restricted back in the day and banned from TV.

Seeing the Super Dome named after a gambling company is sad, and says a lot about Nola's future prospects economically.

I think we'll look back someday and regret the widespread, unfettered promotion of gambling on even the most trivial of events.

Not sure protestant faith was the answer because it fractured Christianity and made it easier to dismantle in the long run

Weird digressing in a gambling thread, but Christianity has never, for a single second of its history, not been fractured.d

What about old men? Are they not also susceptible?

It's been fractured fron the very beginning. The Apostles argued among themselves. Paul's letters frequently deal with disputes between the early churches.

You know why every town has a First Baptist Church? Because at some point one or more faction split off from that church and founded other churches over some disagreement.

Well, if we didn’t have safety nets for people who act stupidly and they felt the full wrath of their choices without being a burden on society as a whole, Scruffy would have zero problems with individuals choosing to act in any way, no matter how idiotic.
