Can a president reclassify weed from Sched I via executive order? Arent the drug schedules listed by the DEA which is the executive branch
This is low hanging fruit from a political POV. If the dems wanted to make an honest gain in the polls prior to midterms they would do this with quickness. Just more proof big pharm and other lobby’s run the show.

Look how much this country as went to shite since recreational use has become legal and normalized.
Homeless population in Denver skyrocketed not long after it was legalized. Whether it is directly related is probably up for debate.

Not physically addictive, just mental. Meaning people form a habit and think they need it, but if obliged to quit they could do so with little or no health issues. They might not want to quit and they might be agitated about it but they won’t get sick beyond maybe a headache. Less addictive than caffeine.
This is fair enough. I wasn’t saying addictive in terms of actual physical withdrawals like alcohol has. I meant that people will give up family, friends, job or anything else for weed. And I have witnessed people going from weed to meth several times because they outgrew their hunger for weed and wanted a stiffer high.

Trust me, I know too, and you can actually function better when you’re high on weed, than when you’re drunk. As a matter of fact, when I was in college, and was smoking it everyday, I was able to do all my school work, and work with relative ease thanks to weed. Made it all more fun actually, because I was high. Those sure were the days.

Actually there is some proof that lsd is safer than marijuana for your body

They don’t want that shite legalized either.
Yes they do, they just need to make the proper "investments" first and let some time pass. They will legalize recreational here in a couple years when the farms and dispensaries they all "invested" in have surpassed what the medical industry can handle. Right now its selling out, so the politicians are making maximum profit on the farms and dispensaries.
Follow the money.

I used to smoke a lot of weed and people do get headaches, trouble sleeping, and trouble eating without smoking. Marijuana isn’t that bad but it is certainly addictive.

This dude never stops bitching about weed. Get a new hobby

Yeah, and the weed we were smoking in those days isn’t even close to the potent shite the kids have access to today. It ain’t heroin, but it’s not nearly as benign as a lot of its proponents claim it to be, especially for kids whose brains aren’t fully developed yet. It may take another decade, but there will inevitably be research proving a strong correlation between young people of today’s marijuana use and mental health issues in adulthood.

Alcohol is also terrible for a developing brain and that doesn’t stop everyone (and most of us when we’re in high school) from doing it….. hell in most countries it is legal to drink in your teens.

Yep.
Wait, aren't we talking about drinking coffee? Because that's how I am without my coffee. After 3 days, it's all gone though. Kind of like weed.

I don’t think that’s a very good argument. This bad thing is legal, so that bad thing should be legal too. I think it should be legal myself, but there’s got to be a better argument—one made on freedom and personal responsibility—than the weak comparison to alcohol argument.
I was a huge pot head in my early 20s and before I had kids—and for a time after—I would have been one of the biggest supporters in all these threads for making it legal. I’m sure you could find plenty of my posts as a proponent of it if you looked for them. And again, I think it should be legal. HOWEVER, I think we need to be talk about it honestly, and neither side does. The opponents talk about it like it it’s evil, but the proponents talk about it like it’s totally benign. And it’s not either of those.

Private prison and cartel lobbies. Simple as that.

People in CA, OR, and WA did.

There is psychological addiction though. I know plenty of people that smoke A LOT and feel like they have to. If they don't, they get irritable, anxiety etc
