When looking at a glaringly biased and uneducated opinion, it’s important to get the entire picture to build an understanding of your jaded perspective.

Being is better than non being. Fundamentally, Universally, Transcendentally.

If you are calling me jaded, then a) ive been called worst and b) im guilty as charged .

But again, this religious insanity is far from unique to America.. i dont need to go into the old tropes about how religion has started more wars in human history than anything else (no link, but 100% true).. but youve shown yourself to be a brainwashed sheep who regurgitates whatever they taught you at Sunday school, or in Catechism , or in ur elementary school religious classes .. it’s just sad that you cant see it .

The arrogance of your “enlightenment” knows no bounds. Sad because according to you, you’re so intellectually advanced that you have it all figured out, yet can’t seem to figure out how to build wealth or save for retirement. What a waste

This is massively overstated.

"I don't want them to kill themselves because it will affect me negatively!" Who's the selfish one?

Better question, where are all these people calling suicide selfish, before someone gets to the point where their situation is so horrible, they want to take their own life?

People don't give a shite about one another until it starts to negatively affect THEM.

Not only can you not be bothered to use proper spelling or grammar, but you’ve failed to make any coherent argument about your views on religion. Quite frankly I’ve said nothing about my religious views, but you’ve made assumptions about me anyway. Engaging in someone with preconceived notions is a fruitless endeavor, as we view the world through different prisms.

Ok, you are one person that affects many people.

If you off yourself many people hurt.

I still go with the person who killed themselves is the selfish one based on numbers alone.

What you call "religious insanity" are the universal moral norms that have held societies together for centuries.

When everyone does their own thing you lose community, culture, and happiness itself.
We are seeing it happen in real time. The term for it is Liquid Modernity.

It is characterized by the pervasiveness in contemporary society of what Bauman refers to as the ‘unholy trinity’ of uncertainty, insecurity and unsafety, or as he more bluntly puts it the failure of government to act as the principal guarantor of existence

Why does it have to be religious “insanity” and not simply religious “beliefs”?

What’s so insane to believe one should not kill themself?

More than 150 years ago Nietzsche asked serious societal impacting questions concerning the Death of God.

When religion disappears from Western Society what will we replace it with? And how could the replacement ever be as good? Well, here we are. God is mostly dead in Europe and Canada and the new god is individual self expression, the results of which become more ridiculous and catastrophic each day. We are lonelier than ever. We are unhappier than ever. We are less personal than ever. But dammit we know how to express ourselves, oh and you better agree with how I chose to express myself. Oh, and if I'm totally different in a month, you better like that too.

So, even assuming your own argument is true and that religion is merely brainwashing, it's a healthier brainwashing than the modern therapuetic mindset because society is a crumblin'.

Death is an illusion. Consciousness is eternal. We live on eternally. Ditch the religious conditioning.

We ? You got a mouse in your pocket ??

No offense, but speak for yourself.. also , “playing by the rules” all the time will get you precisely nowhere in life…. Im not talking about the big rules, of course you shouldnt go around killing OTHER people.. you shouldnt put up with child abusers, or insurance company executives who keep jacking up rates.. all those people should be thrown underneath the prison…. but most people have embellished their resume to get a job, or told a fib or two to get laid.. Half of success in life is figuring out ways to “beat the system”.. most successful people will tell you that .

Now death is based in religion, and not science.

“Death” that we have been conditioned to fear is just shedding the bodily husk that we navigate with in this dimension. Pure consciousness is what we are. And that is eternal and the only ultimate reality. We are living in a very realistic video game.

And you accused someone else of changing the subject?!

Not to worry, I can play this game.

quote:

What’s so obvious about this?

quote:

child abusers, or insurance company executives who keep jacking up rates.. all those people should be thrown underneath the prison

Why? They were only expressing their individual desires…

Do you see why religion is a bit more than mere brainwashing now? It’s actually really fricking important.
