Carjacking isn't an Olympic sport.

Part of the hosting rules are that the IOC is always the most corrupt entity involved. Sorry y'all.

New Orleans hosted the 1992 Track n Field US Olympic Trials at Tad Gormley Stadium
It was held here because the climate was similar to Barcelona.
I went to several days of events including seeing O’Brien no-height.

New Orleans hosted the Olympics, the amount of grifting, graft and corruption would be unprecedented.
Meh. The locals here could learn a lot from the IOC. They are the true leaders in corruption

Louisiana politicians would request $350mm for a 10 year study before they would make a bid

I would rather the US never host another Olympics again. The people who run the Olympics are worse than snake oil salesmen. It’s gotten so expensive and you end up with useless facilities that are usually built like trash anyway. Meanwhile those a-hole Europeans that run the damn thing are laughing all the way to the bank.

They hosted special Olympics if that counts

Yeah with future World Cup and LA Olympics they can use existing infrastructure and substantially less costs

They have Olympics there daily, they just call it Survivor; New Orleans

You’re really want the whole world’s attention on this city for everyone to see what a disaster it is?

We have experience constructing temporary event villages thanks to the 1984 World's Fair.

We'd take the gold in carjacking

Avoiding Pot holes - Gold
Avoiding Drive by shootings- Gold
Random shootings I-10- Gold
Then top it off with the grand daddy of all events.
Tour de Old Gentilly - Gold in avoiding pot holes, can’t say being shot as the area is mostly over grown lots, and throw in a mix of white water rafting when it rains heavily.
The problem is there are no official games for the above events.

No way to run the Olympic Marathon due to all of the potholes.

Yeah! And they could totally support the flights in/out, especially with Lafayette building that new airport terminal. They have FIVE whole new gates, and with the way I-10 flows, you’re practically already in New Orleans.
Toss in that Louisiana has a population around 4MM and that every non-COVID-affected game since Atlanta has sold 6-8MM tickets, and you’ve got loads of tourism dollars just making their way into LA’s coffers.
They can run the Causeway for the Marathon to ensure no one gets lost, so you’ll get some folks staying on the North Shore.
Then you throw in how easy it is to get around New Orleans on any given day, and it’s sort of ridiculous that they didn’t do this sooner.

The facilities are useless because they’re in shithole countries those events aren’t normally done in
This wouldn’t be a problem anywhere in the USA
