Read the full transcript. So you are arguing that trump says 30 seconds before that he and his team are handling coronavirus good, and then turns around and calls the virus a hoax? It doesn't make sense and the full quote clearly indicates their POLITICIZING of it was the "hoax" he was referring to.

Some of us, like Trump, have. Others, like Dem's, swallowed the Russia hook.
Politicians, well they get rich off China and corporate donations and kickbacks made possible by cheap labor in China.

Because our media does not function as it was designed. Instead they operate as the prompt wing of the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party wants literally everything to be Trump’s fault, including the Wuhan Virus. If the media actually reported the truth on the Wuhan Virus the public would know all of this is China’s fault. That would not help the Democrats though. So the media ignores China and downplays and tries to discredit anything that lays on China.
So what it boils down to is the media is lying to the American public in an effort to help the Democrats use the Wuhan Virus to hurt President Trump and further their political agenda.

He spends his entire presidency calling people fake news while giving them not even crumbs but basically full loaves of bread to feed on. It’s a never ending cycle.
Downplaying the effects was a giant mistake and y’all can shout about muh travel ban all you want, but that was meaningless to the vast majority of this country. The demeanor of a president in the face of events like this means more than any policy. Trump is so all over the place it’s like watching Wendy’s brother in the 3rd season of ozark.

At least that position isn’t insane.
As for his response, i agree he started poorly.
Been doing fine since then though, at least up until he walked back his hope to rollback restrictions on Easter, something I wholeheartedly support.
And we are currently so far below projections at this point that, as they are revised downwards even more, more people will start to respond with anger that they did too much.
I truly hope many politicians are shitcanned over this event.
