I have a friend who works for a barge company near the Mississippi River Bridge. He told me awhile back that there are a lot more people who jump or attempt to jump from the bridge than you would realize.

He said that most of the time, when you hear a stalled vehicle on the bridge, more than likely it's someone threatening to jump.. Amazon (or pick your company) doesn't want to see headlines "Another person jumps to their death form the MRB sponsored by Amazon.

Also, it would probably open the door for more corruption to take place.
