Why don't vultures consider moving the roadkill to the side of the road?

Write a formal letter to one. Bump when you get a response.

They have come to realize that by leaving it there they can get a HIIT workout while they dine.

this is a dumb thread. i always see soul chickens dragging kill to the side of the road then the whole gang descends on it in the grass.

the only time roadkill is left in the road is when its smushed beyond the ability of the birds to drag to the side.

The road keeps the road kill warmer and cleaner than the side of the road. I assume they did a risk/reward assessment thus the answer to the question you ponder.

Crows are the only birds that are smarter.

They never forget a thing.

They have a brain the size of a kernel of corn.

Judging by your question, vultures are already smarter than you.

It's not the size.
They use more of their brain than the OP.

If they leave it in the road, the slower vultures will get run over, providing food for the smarter ones who then move the carcasses
