You never hear anyone ask someone with an accent if they're from Florida.
Do Floridians not have accents?

very few people in FL that are actually from FL, south FL is a melting pot of people mainly from the NE, now if you start to get up to north FL, you'll find that AL, GA, MS, et al by no means have the market on red necks cornered

Go to the northern reaches of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, etc., and they are indistinguishable from S AL and S GA baws.

Happens with most places that are big time attractions for moving to or visiting
Becomes a big pot of random accents from various places around and no individual accent stands out as a “Florida” accent

The only waterhead I think I've actually seen was in DeFuniak Springs, going to some little seafood joint on the northern shores of the Choctawhatchee that was decked out in Auburn paraphernalia.

Tallahassee's motto used to be: Florida with a southern accent.

You quite obviously have never spent time in the Redneck Riviera.
