You can’t compare New Orleans to Baton Rouge . Much more history , people and money when it comes to Mardi Gras . I like just having a couple parades in BR . I also prefer Spanish town over any parade in the state . Houma has a pretty good Mardi Gras showing

Considering how many people go, I'm surprised how little love Lafayette Mardis Gras gets. Of course, it doesn't compare to New Orleans, but nothing does. Still, it's much more family-oriented overall. And 250k turnout just for Fat Tuesday

there is no reason BR cant do larger and bigger parades then new orleans and metairie does.
its just because no one had the will and organized them to do it.
