Why does Southern Louisiana have a dead winter look

Like I didn’t expect so much brown dead trees lol.

(Update for people that stepped a foot out of Houma)

Compared to areas of similar latitude, Southern Louisiana is extraordinarily brown in the winter? Why is this?

I mean... there's hardwood and bald cypress forests. They lose their leaves in the dormant season.

Cheeseburgers. The trees ate too many big Macs raising their cholesterol. This caused the phloem to clog up. It eventually burst and there was a trunk attack. Trunk attacks are like heart attacks in humans but in trees.

Depends on where you are. Could be from storm damage, etc.

But chances are if you come back to the same spot in July, you won't be able to see through all the green. And thanks to the mosquitos, you probably won't notice anyway.
