The concept always looked way too fancy for Denham. I just figured at some point they smartened up and remembered they were building something in Denham and realized that it didn't have to look nice to attract the locals. They're still impressed by any kind of development.

AP would love to 4-lane their roads, but they're all state highways that have been sitting in that $12 billion backlog DOTD has since the early 90's. The left turn lane for Nicholson at Brightside is right in front of us in line

Economical factors?? That's so 2007. The economy is better now, so why won't they comeback and build these higher stores now?

I do not know why anyone believes developers. Just look at any golf development or "next river ranch" development.

Usually its because of the bait and switch but I think in this case it was mostly because they originally were going to use a lot more tax dollars for the project. The local state representative from Livingston Parish disagreed with Bobby Jindal on something so of course the Governor punished the representative by rejecting the legislation that created the funding mechanism.
