I'm glad you came into this with no facts and have just assumed only conservatives oppose vaccines.

but protecting the public health is a very basic and very important aspect of government.
so every vaccine they compel people to take is for the greater good?
they are incapable of making a mistake?

i dont keep up with WHO is against vaccines (no pun intended) but it doesn't make sense to me those who support liberalism/socialism/government-knows-best would be against something the government is doing for the good of the PEOPLE

B/C it is produced from, and directly benefits, corporate America, who we all know is beholden only to its share holders and wouldn't hesitate to lie and poison the population as a whole to gain a quarter of a point on it's stock price.

What is taken away from you if you refuse vaccines?
not really. the peer pressure from doctors, hospital, friends and family when i made the unpopular decision not to have my son's penis chopped on was ridiculous.
my decision, yet i had to explain myself dozens if not hundreds of times and met with opposition every step of the way.
vaccines are another 'bully' shoved down our throats.
in my case, there was ZERO evidence that some jewish mystic's ritual from 1000 years ago was applicable to my son's health yet i had to fight like hell to stand my ground.

I've gone back and forth with you on the circumcision thing. And ultimately, in the US, HPV prevention is the primary medical benefit of circumcision these days. If that vaccine had an acceptable administration rate, I would have no problem eliminating the practice as a whole in the US. It's completely cosmetic otherwise.
Vaccines, on the other hand, have a huge effect on community and population health. So resistance to them is not only endangering you or a loved one, but everyone else. Some things should be pressured on you.

not really.
i'm sure the 1930s equivalent of 'vaccines for all' was Hitler taking care of the 'jewish problem'.
only the government can put a gun to your head.

and the only reason circumcision is now 'optional' is the APA knows there's no reason (aside from cosmetic) and they've hemmed and hawed about the HPV shite because of pressure they got after releasing their findings.
that's horseshite and you know it.

It's difficult for me to agree with your assessment when I have personally seen hundreds of cancer patients with tumors secondary to HPV infection. Nearly 1/3rd of all Head and Neck tumors are secondary to HPV, with only smoking being a more contributing factor (that's the other 2/3rds).
What's horseshite is medical illiterates denying data and results based on their own worldly opinions and experiences. I could link 20+ papers, from both the US and Europe, demonstrating the HPV-16 and cancer link, and I guess you would just dismiss them all as "hemming and hawwing".
Or I could link you that 80 million in the US are actively infected with HPV, and 15 million more will be every year. But then I'd just be "hemming and hawwing".
And since we're valuing the opinion of the APA now...
quote:
In a revised policy statement, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) updates its recommendations for the use of HPV vaccine in both males and females. The statement, "HPV Vaccine Recommendations," is published in the March 2012 Pediatrics (published online Feb. 27) and provides the rationale and background to support the HPV vaccine recommendations in the 2012 Adolescent Immunization Schedule (published Feb. 1). The AAP recommends routine HPV vaccination of males and females at 11-12 years of age. The vaccine is most effective if administered before the onset of sexual activity, and antibody responses to the vaccine are highest at ages 9 through 15 years. Immunization of children against HPV infection will help prevent cancers and genital warts caused by HPV.

i dont have a problem with this. seems like younger people are advocating parents should be the ones responsible for making this happen. thats a bad thing?

by their own admission
quote:
The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that circumcision has potential medical benefits and advantages, as well as risks. Evaluation of current evidence indicates that the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks and that the procedure's benefits justify access to this procedure for families who choose it, however, existing scientific evidence is not sufficient to recommend routine circumcision. Therefore, because the procedure is not essential to a child's current well-being, we recommend that the decision to circumcise is one best made by parents in consultation with their pediatrician, taking into account what is in the best interests of the child, including medical, religious, cultural, and ethnic traditions.

Yes. Again because of herd immunity, which you have yet to address or refute.

THAT'S FINE!!!
Per their policy statements, they believe that non-circumcision is fine in conjunction with HPV vaccination prior to sexual development. Which I stated I agreed with.
But you question the validity of the vaccine AND the circumcision. You're not making efforts to prevent it on either front. Do one or the other, I don't care which.
