Why does everything have to be “fixed” after a casualty situation?

With no consideration that the “fix” to whatever problem may actually have a much worse consequence?
Like with 9/11. The “Patriot Act” was the fix and now we live in a surveillance state where anything you say online can bite you in the arse years later. Where the government has been busted illegally spying on its own citizens and no one seems to care?
Like with school shootings. The “fix” for many is to either make schools like prisons or take away more guns from law abiding citizens. Either way, we lose.
Or healthcare. The “fix” is to tax the populace to death so we can mandate coverage for the poor - and that ends up funneling MORE money to the wrong people leaving us with less coverage.
Or social equality. The “fix” is a forced equality of outcome actually leading us back into practical segregation.
I wish we had leaders who had the nuts, the ballsack, the testicular fortitude to say, even in the midst of a huge crisis - We don’t NEED a “fix”. We need to rally together and move on
No one has nuts anymore. And those that do only use a crisis to expand their power.
I guess the real fix is in.

Because an unarmed society is the ultimate goal for a government. They can do as they please with us after that.

I personally think the fix is easy. Have some police officers on campus.

People get emotional after things like this and have to find a culprit.

90% of it is virtue signaling.
The remaining 10% is stupidity.

The fix is to stop sending kids to doctors for anything outside of physical injuries.
Doctors are the most untrustworthy people on the planet.

All jokes aside, I do believe we’ve turned to medication to discipline our kids for us. Got a kid that misbehaves? Give him Adderall.
When I was a kid and I misbehaved, my dad whipped my arse and I learned not to do that anymore. Now parents are so desperate to create this utopian view of life for kids that even discipline is seen as unwanted. “It’s not that kids are trying to test limits, no, there has to be a condition that causes misbehavior. Not my little Johnny or Susie...”
All of this crap is due to poor parenting and the reaction is yet another in a long line of attempts to abdicate any accountability that parents have in raising their kids to be productive members of society

Think about reality.
Police are paid shite to begin with and most small towns have meager police forces.
Most towns also have multiple school campuses. Police forces in these smaller towns would have to double to support what you’re asking

I completely agree. You can't legislate a fix for everything. When you live in a free society, you have to expect a small level of bad shite to happen. I'd rather that than a locked down police state.

Someone should “Fix” the FBI because they chose not to act on a phoned in concern about this weirdo.
Nobody is discussing how the FBI shite the bed

This and in general it's a fundamental aspect of the liberal progressive M.O. deemed as "progress."

People that spout off crap like this tend to be very uneducated idiots.

Oh yea, right. I'm 40 and have never been to the doctor outside of a broken arm. The older I get I've lost perfectly good friends to doctors overprescribing pain killers and mood altering drugs.
