I read the thread about how lawyers are the problem and how they are scum.

I sent it to a lawyer friend of mine and he shared this with me.

I encourage you to watch how insurance companies discriminate against the citizens of Louisiana.

If you aren't willing to watch it, then please don't complain about lawyers being the problem for your insurance rates. Very simple.

basic summary. Auto insurance companies are charging more for variables unrelated to actual driving.

Very odd how this thread has not taken off like the one against lawyers.

Sometimes, the TRUTH is NOT what you want to hear ..... especially if it does not fit your narrative.

On the surface, yes, but I'm educated enough to know that I don't have all the information to take a stance. if there's a legitimate reason for the practice I may not be grasping, I'd hate to insert my foot in my mouth later.

Its widely accepted that personal injury lawyers are some of the most morally bankrupt people in society

Like what? Credit tiering or discounts for college degrees or owning a home? While technically none of those are related to driving, there’s a correlation between those things and acting responsibly (ie not driving recklessly or playing on their phone while driving)

ALL of them or just some of them...mostly those that advertise and whore themselves out to a certain demographic?

Maybe I’m bias. I deal with them on regular basis and I’ve seen what they do. I’m not allowed to call it what it is in person so I resort to an anonymous message board

I have 2 PHD and I (reluctantly) use my phone while driving.....including texting....which I KNOW is not safe and is stupid...but still do. That being said, I still have a perfect driving record. (maybe luckily)

Insurance companies, at least the profitable ones, have underwriting down to as close as an exact science as possible. Everything should be taken into account when rating because whether you believe it or not it affects the risk they are willing to take.

How about the only thing that should be taken into consideration is my DRIVING RECORD????

If I screw up and have an "AT FAULT" .... THEN I pay a higher premium. Why JUDGE me before??????
