Why is everybody upset at him?

He wants his kids to go to a good school.

Statistically a 95% white school will be really good.

But we live in a society where facts and statistics are racist.

Zillow. Look under nearby schools when you see a house. We're looking for a new place to live and I've been perusing with that site. So far the percentages and school ratings are telling a story.

Ask a realtor. They are required by law to tell you this stuff.

95% Asian would be better.

I love all the people righteous about the 5% comment (which given the source was likely made with an ulterior motive) when there is not one who wouldn't give pause if they had kids, found the perfect house, and then found out the local district was 70% black.

Name all the great 70% black public school districts in the us. You think someone else could come up with a longer list that are not?

how does one find this shite??? asking for a friend.

Montville, Woodland Park, Boonton, Pompton Plains New Jersey, and the list goes on.

41 Weston Place, Woodland Park, NJ This house has been on the market for over 180 days so it could probably be had for under $400k. It needs some updating but its 2700sq ft, has a huge yard, and is in a safe community that is around 20 miles from Manhattan.

The cousin bought a house in the North Caldwell/Cedar Grove area of NJ and the school district is West Essex which are allegedly very good schools.

He works in NYC but only has to commute there 3 days a week. It's a hellish commute that is probably worse than anything in Austin, though.

The higher the minority population, the worse the school does academically. Buncha people are quick to yell racism are ignoring irrefutable facts.

To be fair, go look at Savannah's school ratings along with their demographics. A low rating on Zillow might not mean it's a bad school, but I'll be damned if it's not something to be concerned about.

Meh, mopac isn't so bad north of 183. Now 360 in the evening going north on the other hand. :bangshead: The fact that it has stop lights boggles my mind.

I'm sorry you are poor. How about looking for a house within your budget, although you may have to up the percentage of blacks to do so.

well, Davenport Ranch, Spicewood, and Westlake HS make sense to me, since there's no flyover, but the other ones are a joke. That's just the result of wealthy neighborhoods flexing their muscle. They weren't always there

Doubtful. At least the NYC area has mass public transit. Austin is just sit in traffic on any road from 7-10am and 4-7pm.
